Laser Treatment for Varicose Veins

This is the newest technology available. Endovenous Laser Ablation (ELA) is a procedure whereby laser light is used to heat seal damaged deeper veins that lead to varicose veins. An alternative to this procedure is Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy where the same underlying vein is treated with a sclerosant chemical. ELA is the treatment of choice where the underlying damaged deeper veins are particularly large.
