Approximately 8 years ago I had a large varicose vein in my left leg. I consulted my G.P. and was referred to a local surgeon would advise me that surgery would be required to correct the problem. The surgery was performed which resulted in a 2 day stay in hospital, general anesthetic and three weeks of recuperation. The result was good and I had no problems for 2 years.

The vein began to reoccur bigger than before over the next twelve months. My occupation as a fire fighter keeps me ors my feet for long periods and my wife & I run a trophy business. Being ors my feet with this vein caused my left foot to swell and change to bluish red colour by the end of the day. The leg would need to be elevated to relieve the pain and discomfort and reduce the swelling. Due to the poor circulation in my lower leg an ulcer developed just above the ankle. My leg looked particularly ugly with discoloured knotty lamps, ulceration & swelling and was quite painful at times.

By chance a work colleague showed me the results of treatment he was receiving from The Leg Vein Clinic for varicose veins on both his legs. I was amazed at the results and he informed me that no time off work was required during the treatment. He recommended Dr. Paul Varcoe to me and I made an appointment as the same day.

During consultation with Dr. Varcoe I was advised of all the possible problems that could be encountered with this type of treatment and what the procedure would cost.

I decided to go ahead with the procedure and bad my leg injected at my next appointment. A through Ultra-Sound of my leg had revealed a large varicose vein and Dr. Varcoe advised me that 1-2 follow up treatments could be required fiver a period of time. After the treatment a pressure stocking must be worn for two weeks and 30 minutes of walking is required daily. Within 24 hour of receiving the injections I had no more swelling around my foot or ankle. By the end of tile 2 week period of wearing the stocking I returned for a follow up consultation and amazed much the ulcerated area on my lower leg had healed.

The improvement in my leg after a month was nothing short of miraculous. At the 3 month check up further injections were made and my leg continues to improve.
