Veins Veins Go AWAY! And Mine did.....

. ...thanks to being in the expert care of Dr Paul Varcoe, The Leg Vein Clinic, Broadbeach and the excellent treatment of Ultra Sound Guided Sclerotherapy.

I lived with my large blue-green and bulging veins for quite some time. About 15 years in fact, thinking that the only cure was surgical stripping. Surgery was not on my list of favourite ideas of treating this problem. Nor did the idea of spending time in hospital, the recovery period and scaring, enhanced by quite a few stories from ladies who had travelled down the "surgical removal" road. I am a working mother, a very busy one, with little time to spare.

I stumbled across the treatment after reading Good Medicine (July 1998). My treatment began in February 1999 and due to the size of my veins (very large), was longer than the average treatment. I required an initial treatment in each leg at monthly intervals, then a follow up with 2 treatments in one particularly bad leg and another in the other leg to shut down some problem areas proving to be a little on the stubborn side. This took 1 year.

My veins were quite large (and ugly). I don't have the world greatest legs, but at least they are not covered in veins now. I have PAIN FREE, VEIN FREE legs.

During the summer of 1999/2000 I revamped my wardrobe with some shorts, knee length dresses and skirts! I also threw out my support stockings and headed for the "Lycra Sheers".
