Flashy advertising or experience of the doctor?

Beware of doctors who are claiming great experience who are not in a supervised training program or have not completed their training.

The qualifications of the practitioner you are considering can easily be checked on the Australasian College of Phlebology Website.

Fellowship of the Australian College is the highest qualification in Phlebology.  Dr Paul Varcoe is one of four Fellows of the Australian College of Phebology in Queensland.

• Your legs are critical to your health and appearance – thoroughly check out any doctor who you are considering treating your leg(s).
• Is the doctor you are considering a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology (the highest qualification) or simply a doctor who is interested in this field of medicine but who might not have even completed their training.
• Ask how long your doctor has been in this field and check out what they say – unfortunately on the Gold Coast there are some doctors in fancy premises who have not completed their training.

WHAT IS A PHLEBOLOGIST?

Phlebologists are qualified doctors who have a special interest in vein disease and its treatment and have undergone considerable further training. In Australia they are credentialed by the Australasian College of Phlebology.  Ensure you use a quailified doctor.
